Where Newton Kids Discover the Joy of Dance
Twenty-eight years ago, a young college graduate with a British History degree from Bowdoin College stood at a crossroads. When Deb Vogel approached her parents about pursuing her lifelong dream of opening a dance studio, they never wavered in their support and belief in her vision. With their encouragement and the unwavering support of her then-boyfriend (now husband Todd), she took the leap.
That leap of faith in 1998 was about creating something special – a dance studio where excellence and joy could coexist. Having grown up in Newton herself, Deb understood the unique needs of local families. She envisioned a place where children could discover their potential through the art of dance, where technical training would be balanced with pure happiness.
“I felt like there needed to be an option,” Deb reflects, “where kids could put everything else behind them. They could walk up those stairs to the second floor, open that door, and just breathe.”
What started with handmade flyers hung on telephone poles, a Yellow Pages ad, and subletting studio space from a local Watertown-based Armenian dance company has blossomed into Newton’s most welcoming dance community – a place where thousands of children have learned that excellence and joy aren’t mutually exclusive.

All That Jazz Dance Studio serves the Metrowest Boston area from our beautiful two-studio location in Newton. We welcome families from Newton, Belmont, Brighton, Brookline, Needham, Waltham, Watertown, Wellesley, Weston, and surrounding communities.
Our approach is simple but powerful: we use the joy of dance to build confident, connected young people who carry life lessons far beyond our studio walls. With 10 experienced teachers and 13 dance styles for ages 2-18, we meet every child exactly where they are and help them discover their full potential.

Miss Deb Vogel
Founder, Director & Heart of All That Jazz
Twenty-eight years later, Miss Deb still teaches 11-12 hours per week because the connection with students remains at the heart of everything we do. As both founder and primary point of contact for families, she ensures that every aspect of the All That Jazz experience reflects our core values.
Miss Deb grew up in Newton, attending Peirce Elementary, Day Junior High, and Newton North High School before graduating from Bowdoin College. She’s the proud mom of two college-aged children: Gabby (All That Jazz class of 2022, now at Colby College) and Matty (Connecticut College class of 2029).
“I still love that my childhood dream has become a lifelong passion for teaching and helping shape the lives of so many children,” Miss Deb says. “When our recent graduating class of 35 students each wrote me cards describing how this place changed their lives – even kids who came just one or two hours a week – I knew we were doing something truly special.”
The ultimate validation? Former students now trust us with their own children, creating a beautiful multi-generational legacy of families who understand that dance education should build confidence, not tear it down.

Each brings unique expertise while maintaining our consistent approach of leading with kindness, encouraging individual growth, and creating lasting connections.
Miss Bobbi Adario
Miss Bobbi brings over 20 years of teaching experience in hip hop, jazz, tap, and musical theater. A former professional dancer with Planet Hollywood Las Vegas and Los Angeles dance companies, she combines high-energy instruction with her background in school social work. As a strong single mom and energetic role model, Miss Bobbi creates classes where students feel both challenged and supported.
Miss Lindsay Andersen
With 16 years at All That Jazz and a master’s degree in dance pedagogy, Miss Lindsay’s creativity and patience are unmatched. Her encouraging smile and infectious laugh create an atmosphere where every student feels safe to explore their potential. She teaches Pre-Pointe and Ballet with a focus on individual growth and artistic expression.
Miss Sara Ciulla
A Watertown native with over 22 years of dance experience, Miss Sara trained with the Radio City Rockettes and earned her bachelor’s degree at Regis College, where she was principal dancer and director of the dance company. She brings expertise in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, pointe, and ballroom, always emphasizing confidence and self-discipline through dance.
Miss Ellen Frank
With 13 years at All That Jazz and over 30 years of total teaching experience, Miss Ellen has a special gift for connecting with preschool dancers. Her extensive background includes teaching throughout the Newton area and at the JCC. Students of all ages adore her nurturing approach and ability to make even the youngest dancers feel confident and capable.
Miss Grace Gehrenbeck-Shim
This Waltham local has been sharing her infectious love of dance at All That Jazz for 7 years. As resident choreographer at Kennedy Middle School and longtime dance counselor at Creative Arts at Park, Miss Grace brings high energy and creativity to every class. Her loyal following of students can’t get enough of her super-fun approach to dance education.
Miss Erin Janiszewski
With 13 years at our studio and a dance performance degree from Ball State University, Miss Erin brings professional experience from her year performing with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Her sweet, caring nature combined with extensive teaching experience in both Indiana and Massachusetts creates an environment where students feel nurtured while being challenged to grow.
Miss Becca Lozinsky
Our first graduate to return as a teacher! Miss Becca danced as a student at All That Jazz for 7 years before joining our faculty 6 years ago. She embodies our philosophy perfectly, understanding both the student and teacher perspectives. Her enthusiasm for sharing the All That Jazz experience with the next generation is infectious and inspiring.
Miss Samantha Mocle
With 15 years at our studio, Miss Samantha trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and musical theater in New York City before taking leadership roles in Emerson College’s dance company. As a writer/editor at Lasell University and our graphic design creator, she brings creativity and artistic vision to every class while maintaining our caring, supportive atmosphere.
Miss Amelia Parks
Originally from Albuquerque, Miss Amelia brings a unique blend of dance expertise and behavioral management skills. With experience as Universal Dance Association staff and professional ballet company member, plus current graduate studies in marriage and family therapy, she creates classes focused on empowerment, kindness, and bringing out each student’s best self.
