We did it. And, I truly mean WE did it- from my staff to you parents to our beloved dancers. Together we got through this year without a single Covid case. Together we stayed healthy and safe. Together we put on an unbelievable Zoom show and SEVEN magical in-person outdoor recitals. Together we gave your children, our children, some normalcy in a year that was anything but normal.
As I said in my thank you video message, I am just so grateful to our entire dance family. No matter how confident I was in my ability to create a stellar dance experience that was still safe and fun, I couldn’t do this alone. I needed my teachers to be on board, which they immediately were and for that I can never thank them enough.
But, I also needed all of you to trust all of us and you did. Every week, the kids would walk upstairs by themselves, walk through our propped open door, sanitize their hands and come and dance in their taped 6 foot squares. Or, every week, the kids would sign onto their Zoom link and take class from their living room, kitchen, bedroom, basement, or backyard. Either way, every week, the kids were dancing and we were so happy to be there teaching them.
There is hope on the horizon for next year. We plan to be back fully in-person come September. I can’t wait to turn the next page and see what the 24th year of All That Jazz has in store for all of us. In the meantime, have a wonderful and relaxing summer!
